Waly Seck, one of the rising stars of African music, comes to Troxy this Saturday.

He’s one of the newest champions of Mbalax, the intoxicating dance music of Senegal and The Gambia which blends Western rhythms from jazz, soul and Latin with the traditional drumming patterns of Western Africa.

Waly comes from a family with a rich African musical heritage. His father Thione is a globally recognised musician whose four studio albums have helped spread Senegalese music far beyond the country’s borders.

Continuing his family’s trend of spreading their own musical culture far and wide, Waly has introduced a new audience to Mbalax music and has delighted audiences across Europe with his uplifting live shows.
