The Youth Music Awards, in association with Hal Leonard Europe, celebrates the most forward-thinking projects and people making, learning and earning in music. From artists and entrepreneurs to grassroots projects and young leaders, many of whom have gone on to be trailblazers of the live music industry.
This year’s celebrations returned to Troxy for the second year, with an enhanced production fit for the extended stage capacity. Inspired by the incredible music legacy at Troxy, The Youth Music Awards wanted to put on a fabulous awards evening, creating an unforgettable night for everyone involved.
The evening had a prestigious guest list of over 550 music industry professionals, including artists and platforms from World renowned industry names by the likes of Spotify, TikTok, Ticketmaster and Amazon Music.
The awards evening was supported and hosted by ‘NextGen Community’, a community that fosters emerging talent in 18–25-year-olds who have an interest in the music industries. They fulfilled the majority of the roles throughout the night including hosts, marketeers, runners, illustrators, content creators and photographers.
All areas of the venue were used throughout the evening with guests enjoying sparkling drinks on arrival and photo opportunities including a step and repeat wall set-up in the foyer.
As the evening progressed, VIP guests moved through to the main venue space on the ground floor for a drinks reception and a delicious sit-down three course meal, supplied by Boulevard. Upstairs the booth seating was utilised for additional guest overflow, giving guests the flexibility to enjoy the venue space.
The Youth Music Awards made full use of Troxy’s enhanced stage and backstage capacity as multiple acts performed with a quick turnaround, thanks to Troxy’s ability to host multiple sets. They also utilised Troxy’s extensive in-house production equipment, using the full static TV to screen the awards show on a larger view on the main stage, with the production team on hand to ensure the lighting, sound, AV equipment and set-up were all synchronised throughout the ceremony.
The White Room was utilised as a central media hub for hosting interviews and for the teams to upload live social media stories as the night unfolded. It was later transformed for the afterparty with DJ’s mixing energetic sets all night long.
Cristina Barone, Events & Corporate Manager, for Youth Music:
“It was fantastic being able to see the next generation of music industry stars work in an iconic venue that has hosted so many legends. The stage improvements that Troxy has carried out, meant that we had ample space for quick changeover between acts, making everything run very smoothly behind the scenes.
“The team at Troxy are great to work with, and we were so pleased with how the event went last year we knew we had to return to make the event just as, if not more special! We’ve developed a lovely partnership with Troxy and we’re keen to see it develop further in the future.”
