For years, the building languished in decay, primarily serving as storage for the Royal Opera House. When they relinquished the option on their lease after 30 years, Rank took over it over and started resplendently converting the building back to life in the form of a bingo hall. Rank refurbished the interior, removing some of the 1963 auditorium alterations to re-open as Top Rank Bingo, reinstating the huge auditorium.
