Following on from the first day of the Event Tech Live show, Troxy was the awards venue for the seventh edition of the Event Technology Awards on 6 November 2019; celebrating the best of event technology from around the world.
Comedian Hal Cruttenden hosted the awards ceremony and his wry, gentle humour hit the right notes with all the winners, and in the spirit of technology, drinks were served on arrival under the circle by a robot waiter!
Activities were set up for guests, including a magician and photo booth, where attendees took lots of pictures and selfies. The 23 tables spanned the lower floor in front of the stage and a circle of tables on the upper floor. Troxy’s in-house AV equipment was well utilised, with the main display screen moving between the speakers, winning teams and individuals during the awards ceremony. Large illuminated letters spelling out #EventTech on Troxy’s main stage provided the perfect backdrop for the awards, and then the DJ, who closed the night when the central tables were removed to create a central dance floor in front of the stage.
Kizzy Allott, Event Director, said “We love bringing the ETAs back to Troxy, it’s a great venue! We always embrace the art-deco theme, ironic really for a show dedicated to modern technology, but it looks great and each year we’ve managed to do something a little different. Troxy’s East London location is perfect for us as our sister show Event Tech Live takes place on the same date at the Old Truman Brewery. The team at Troxy work really hard to ensure our event runs smoothly, we look forward to working with them on future projects!”
