In December 2018 Some Voices (branded London’s finest choir by Time Out) hosted three consecutive Seasonal Speakeasy nights of choral performances right here at Troxy. 

Our art decor interior perfectly accentuated the roaring 20s theme. But don’t get any funny ideas, when it came to production the three nights were firmly based in the 21st century. 

Troxy’s Head of Sound Ben Ellis was on hand throughout the event and we were really excited to use our new JBL VTX A12 speaker system, which provides great depth and detail without overbearing the audience. When the choir came together in harmony, the impact the JBL’s kicked out was like being hit with a wall of sound. 

To hold the 500 strong choir a custom tiered stage was built to in a stepped formation up to the top stage, rear just under the proscenium, where the live band performed the music for the show.
