We are over the moon to announce that we have won First Mile’s Gold Recycling Standard for 2022 – with a recycling rate of 83% and a mighty 28.48 tonnes of CO² offset. First Mile is a London based company whose mission is to reduce the carbon impact of over 30,000 businesses.
This year we smashed our initial target of recycling over 80% of our waste and offering at least three different recycling services such as food, paper and plastics. In total, the recycling we did alongside all of First Mile’s other customers saved a whopping total of over 60,000 tonnes of carbon.
Attendees and performers alike are keen for live event spaces to be as sustainable as possible as this is one of the most pressing challenges facing our industry and keeping the music and events scene thriving. Back in 2020, we were pleased to see our recycling measures at Troxy had been awarded Silver Standard by First Mile, but to win Gold Standard this year is amazing.
We hope even more venue owners, organisers and promoters join us in revolutionising waste and recycling and in being conscious of their own carbon footprint.
