We just soft-launched our £1.5M refurbishment.

Guests that joined us for Godspeed You! Black Emperor and Toe got a first look at something a little less headline-grabbing, but just as important: Troxy’s nearly-finished new toilet blocks and brand new digital cloakroom.

They’re not fully open just yet, but they’ve officially had their first spin. Early verdict? Worth the wait. This upgrade is all about making the night flow better from start to finish and improving the experience for music and entertainment fans. We’ve more than doubled our toilet capacity, added more cubicles and urinals, and introduced a new digital cloakroom. In short: less time queueing, more time where you want to be in front of the stage.

The restoration and improvements at Troxy have been six years in the making, with around £1.5 million invested into bringing the abandoned basement back into use, with audiences now walking the footsteps of the very first guests in 1933 when they would have entered the cinema at basement level.

What makes reaching this goal even more special is that every event hosted at Troxy has helped make these improvements happen, thanks to the ticket levy. Ticket sales have powered this change and this has gone straight back into boosting our attendee’s Troxy experience.

Design-wise, the new spaces stay true to Troxy’s Art Deco roots, sitting comfortably within the building while quietly bringing things up to modern standards. It’s a restoration that respects the past but works properly for the present. So next time you’re here, it’s necessary to pop down and check out our new necessaries!
