We sat down with David Lysaght who’s our Bar and Facilities Manager here at Troxy to find out a little more about him…
TELL US A BIT ABOUT YOUR BACKGROUND AND WHEN YOU JOINED TROXY…
I’ve over 20+ years experience working within hospitality, having worked within numerous hotels when I lived back in Ireland before relocating to London in 1999. I then went on to work with the Stonegate Group as Bar manager, indigo – o2 in 2013 and then joined Troxy back in 2013. It’s been a jam-packed 8 years here!
WHAT DOES YOUR ROLE ENTAIL?
My role sees me managing every aspect of the multiple bars we have within the venue, this includes, stock rotation, securing and researching new sponsorship deals with different brands, ordering, sales and of course managing my team of 72 bar staff!
HAVE THERE BEEN ANY STAND OUT SHOWS FOR YOU SO FAR?
I’m usually too busy to catch any of the events, but a few stand out over the years. Notably Ricky Gervais was a favourite, along with Disclosure, which happened to be one of the first events I worked at with Troxy. Masquerade and Wild Horses were also stand out events that will stick in my memory! We consider ourselves fortunate to have hosted such esteemed names within our venue, and our ongoing renovations reflect our commitment to providing an even better experience for future events.
WHAT ARE YOU UP TO OUTSIDE OF WORK?
Spending time with the Mrs and visiting my family back home in Ireland. We try to get over to see them wherever we can. I’m a big fan of playing darts, and supporting my home Hurling team back in Limerick.
WHAT’S NEXT FOR YOU AT TROXY?
Keep driving the bar team forward, securing new sponsorship deals and booking in more events as a venue. We’ve a very busy summer ahead and I’m looking forward to seeing what the rest of the year brings!
