Corella bring Thunder Strike to life at Troxy

The latest production to make the most of our iconic Art Deco interiors is Corella’s new music video for Thunder Strike.

Filmed inside our historic East London venue, the video transforms Troxy into a cinematic world of mystery, movement and striking visual storytelling, proving once again just how versatile our spaces can be.

Every music video starts with a creative vision, and for Thunder Strike, finding the right location was a key part of telling the story.

The production team needed somewhere that immediately captured the imagination while giving them the flexibility to shape the space around the narrative. Troxy’s sweeping auditorium, original Art Deco architecture and wealth of period detail made it the perfect choice.

As the creative team explained:

“For the video of Thunder Strike, we were scouting for something very specific. A location that immediately conjures an image, but with the flexibility to dress it in a way that works for the story. The feeling of an empty amphitheatre draws us in, like a mystery. As it did with our cast. The Art Deco design creates a detailed patchwork of texture that really worked with the animation technique we used throughout.”

One of the reasons filmmakers return to Troxy time and again is the sheer variety the venue offers under one roof. Whether you’re creating an intimate performance piece, a large-scale commercial production or a visually ambitious music video, the venue can be transformed to suit almost any creative direction.

Our original 1930s features, flexible production spaces and central London location make filming straightforward, while our experienced team understands the practical demands of working on set, from flexible access and production logistics to supporting crews throughout the day.

Lighting, animation and carefully framed shots combine with the building’s distinctive architecture to create a world that feels immersive, atmospheric and full of intrigue. Rather than simply acting as a backdrop, the venue becomes part of the storytelling, helping to shape the mood and visual identity of the video.

It’s always exciting to see our spaces interpreted through different creative lenses, and Thunder Strike is another fantastic example of how a familiar venue can become something completely unexpected.
