Do you miss the days where you could get a pint in London for under £8? So do we.
Our patrons have voiced their concerns about rising drink prices across the capital. We are putting up a pint-sized protest against the idea that live culture is only for those who can afford it.
Enter Tightwad, our very own 3.4% session lager. Brewed for the people and just £5 a pint. No catch – just good beer at a fair price, full stop. Our latest campaign, Pints for the People, stands for one simple thing: live entertainment and a good time should still be within reach.
And the logo? It’s got a bit of Troxy history behind it. Tightwad’s design pays homage to our very first film screening back in 1933: King Kong. A nod to our beginnings and a reminder of how far we’ve come.
As our Managing Director Tom Sutton-Roberts puts it;
“As a venue for live music, spoken word and cultural experiences, fans are critical to our DNA and we’re saying enough is enough. As London pint prices push past £8 as standard, we wanted to see what we could do to limit the costs of a night out for fans. This launch is about more than just beer. It’s about maintaining access to culture, connection and community at a time when affordability is under threat.”

Tightwad is just the latest chapter in our effort to enhance the Troxy experience. We’re currently in Phase Two of a significant refurbishment project to increase our venue capacity to 3,600 and position Troxy as the largest independent venue of its kind in London. We’re excited to share what’s to come over the coming months.
