In celebration of National Podcast Day we thought we’d share some of our favourite Podcast moments from right here at Troxy.
Blindboy Boatclub
We have to start with Blindboy Boatclub. Surreal storytelling at its sharpest. Blindboy is a lyrical master, fusing history, comedy and dry wit into some of the best narratives. It’s eclectic so you never know what you’re going to get but that’s part of what makes it so great.
Follow that yellow brick road and see what got us so excited here:

I Said What I Said
Looking for unfiltered and unapologetic opinions? Well, you’ve found them with I Said What I Said. Hailing from Nigeria, the queens of Gbeborun community had the whole audience interacting and had plenty of laughs when they graced our stage this year.

Guardian Football Weekly LIVE
Guardian Football Weekly returned to Troxy a couple of weeks ago for a live streamed special edition. Taking this show to the live stage was a masterstroke of brilliance by household names Max Rushden and Barry Glendenning. The duo have serious presence debating VAR, ref tactics, the beautiful game and everything in between. Not to mention, the legendary guests that joined them on the pod. From the usual suspects Jonny Liew, Nicky Bandini and Jona Wils, to special subs John Brewin, Jordan Jarrett Bryan, Joel Grove and Paul Watson.

Cancelled Podcast
Hailing from the United States, two blonde besties brought their smash hit Cancelled Podcast to London. The pair expose all in their frankly eye-opening show. Drugs, sex, life, love, everything gets unpacked and trust us, it’s not for the faint-hearted.

The Bald and The Beautiful
The Bald and The Beautiful is a celebration of queer joy, sharp wit and unfiltered honesty on a global stage. It re-examines what it means to be beautiful in today’s society, whether its drag, conventional beauty or something else entirely. That’s why we’re proud to host it at Troxy, a space that’s proud to give a stage to underrepresented voices.
Queens to the front right here:
Podcasts are all about community and we absolutely love hosting them here. Whether it’s thousands of fans laughing along to an in-joke or holding their breath during a tense debate, the magic is in being together.
So, this National Podcast Day (30th September), we’re raising a glass to all the podcasters who have and will fill our halls with salacious words, sassy remarks, funny quips and the communities who love them.
